Jon Gibson
Jon GibsonLead Pastor
Jon joined The Point family in 2023. His wife Heather and three daughters Morgan, Marlee and Mackenzie are the joys of his life. When he isn’t talking about Jesus or dreaming about the future of The Point you’ll either find him at home playing board games with his family, out hiking, up in a treestand or out fishing. Jon is an avid reader, loves to play the guitar, is passionate about the Green Bay Packers and enjoys long walks on the beach.
Steve Barrett
Steve BarrettCongregational Care Pastor
Steve and his wife, Lodema, have attended The Point since 1996. Ten years later, Steve joined the staff as Congregational Care Pastor. In addition to his work at the church, he is the Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplain at the local hospital and is a certified grief counselor. The Barrett clan includes seven children, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He’s an avid reader (three or four books going at all times) when he can find the time.
Renee Bogard
Renee BogardMinistry Assistant
On staff since 2003, Renee’s infectious personality and love for helping people is the perfect combo for the church office. She and Trent, her husband, have two children. Outside of the office, she loves hanging out with her kids and helping her grandson explore his exciting new world. She has a secret desire to be on Chopped, but would need 2 hours, not 20 minutes, to cook.
Joel Burbrink
Joel BurbrinkCreative Arts Pastor
Arriving in 2007 with his wife, Becky, and two children, Joel’s leadership has transformed the worship experience at The Point. He has great passion for creating and developing the context for worship. Beyond family and his ministry role, he loves to antique and go picking! His real claim to fame is being on Oprah’s Favorite Things show.
Tim Ferret
Tim FerretFamily Ministries Director
What do Prince, Winona Ryder and Tim Ferret have in common? They all hail from Minnesota. Married to Annie, the Ferrets are the proud parents of two sons. They are an active family and enjoy being outdoors. Tim enjoys playing most sports (a huge asset for a guy focused on student ministry)! As far as his loyalties are concerned, he’s an MCU rather than a DC fan. When asked to describe his life, Tim says, “I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.” And we say, thank you Jango Fett!
Steve Fishburn
Steve FishburnFacilities Manager
Steve never lets the grass grow under his feet (especially now that it’s part of his responsibility)! Retiring from a career with Pepsi in April, 2011, he started on staff at The Point in June of that year. Don’t make the mistake of referring to his current role as “a job”. He loves what he does (and it shows). A lifelong Cubs fan, he also likes to golf and fish. Most of his spare time however, is spent with his wife, Sherri, and their grandchildren.
Don Heagle
Don HeagleCustodian
Don has his custodian responsibilities “in the bag”. After retiring from Hilex Poly where he spent 20 years in the grocery bag production business, he put his experience to use at a local grocer bagging everything from avocados to zucchini. Since joining the Point staff in 2018, Don has shifted from grocery bags to trash bags but his huge heart for people and a desire to serve is what drives this husband (to Julie), dad, grandfather and great-grandfather to make a difference every day.
John Holt
John HoltBusiness/Finance Manager
Moving from Illinois in 2004 to join The Point staff, John enjoys working with a wonderful staff of dedicated Christians. Married to his “sweet Minnesota girl”, Dorian, the Holts have one son. A history buff and lover of classical music, John, along with Dorian, operates a home-school publishing company.
Jeff Lewellyn
Jeff LewellynMinistries Director
Joining the staff in June of 2017 as Ministries Director, Jeff provides oversight and leadership for the various ministries and staff at The Point. His particular ministry focus is with small groups and connections. Jeff enjoys the opportunity to work with a variety of leaders and volunteers across the entire ministry spectrum at The Point. Having spent most of his life in and around Indy, Jeff and his wife, Gayle, enjoy the benefits of the smaller community feel of Seymour. Their two, married, adult children and twin grandsons provide great joy. They love to travel and have had a personal police escort out of Monte Carlo.
Kelli Robinson
Kelli RobinsonPoint Kids Director
Returning to The Point after moving away from Seymour in 2020, Kelli is thrilled to be back and to focus on the families and children that attend The Point.
Born and raised in southern Indiana, Kelli and her husband, Adam, love raising their two children in a tight-knit community. Whether they are biking around town or hiking through the woods, they love to be outdoors. They also love to travel with their children and see new places. They have been on three cruises, one plane ride and many car rides to see a vast number of different places. They love sharing these experiences as a family, making lifelong memories.
Kelli knows it is a privilege to serve the Lord as a leader over Point Kids. She has a desire that each child will come to know the amazing love of God in his/her life. She is overwhelmed with joy and excitement to be part of the staff at The Point.
Deb Weitzel
Deb WeitzelMinistries Associate
Deb has been attending The Point since 2012, when she moved to the area from Valparaiso, Indiana. Joining the staff in 2019, she brings the talents of a mind-reader, time-saver, ringmaster, firefighter, and high-wire-walker to her role assisting the Ministries Director and Creative Arts Pastor. In her spare time, you’ll find her enjoying time with her two married daughters and traveling. Want to hear a great story? Ask her about Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
