meet the staff

  • Steve Greene – Lead Pastor

    steve@gotothepoint.com

Steve is so thankful to be a part of a church that is making a difference in the lives of others. Lead pastor since 2002, Steve loves the privilege of sharing the Word of God with The Point on a weekly basis. He and his wife, Laurie, enjoy quality time together and with their three married children and their grandchildren. Any spare time is spent on his motorcycle, traveling, or just being outdoors. Ask him about his first car (purchased when he was 13).

  • Jeff Lewellyn – Ministries Director

    jeff@gotothepoint.com

Joining the staff in June of 2017 as ministries director, Jeff provides oversight and leadership for the various ministries and staff at The Point. His particular ministry focus is with small groups and connections. Jeff enjoys the opportunity to work with a variety of leaders and volunteers across the entire ministry spectrum at The Point. Having spent most of his life in and around Indy, Jeff and his wife, Gayle, enjoy the benefits of the smaller community feel of Seymour. Their two, married, adult children and twin grandsons provide great joy. They love to travel and have had a personal police escort out of Monte Carlo.

  • Joel Burbrink – Creative Arts Pastor

    joel@gotothepoint.com

Arriving in 2007 with his wife, Becky, and two children, Joel’s leadership has transformed the worship experience at The Point. He has great passion for creating and developing the context for worship. Beyond family and his ministry role, he loves to antique and go picking! His real claim to fame is being on Oprah’s Favorite Things show.

  • Becky Sanders – NextGen Director

    becky@gotothepoint.com

Becky joined The Point staff in 2011 but has been a part of the church her entire life. She and her NextGen team are champions for kids and their families and have a strong desire to partner with families to help kids develop their faith and ensure that it sticks! She and her husband, Jason, have two adorable daughters and enjoy spending time with them playing games, exploring new places and watching movies, all with a healthy dose of laughter! As a registered nurse, she provides the perfect mix of talents for any mom and NextGen leader.

  • Steve Barrett – Congregational Care Pastor

    steveb@gotothepoint.com

Steve and his wife, Lodema, have attended The Point since 1996. Ten years later, Steve joined the staff as Congregational Care Pastor. He also serves as the Director of the Safety/Medical teams. In addition to his work at the church, he is the Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplain at the local hospital and is a certified grief counselor. The Barrett clan includes seven children, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He’s an avid reader (three or four books going at all times) when he can find the time.

  • Brandy Smith – Preschool Coordinator

    brandy@gotothepoint.com

Brandy’s addition to The Point staff in 2015 was an answer to prayer – ours and hers! Stuck in an unfulfilling career in business, she asked God to show her what He wanted her to do. She started volunteering in NextGen and the rest is history! She loves the relationships she gets to form with her preschoolers and the joy that comes from watching them learn. She and her husband, Will, have two boys (and one fur baby) and enjoy traveling and anything outdoors.

  • Chrissy Hubers – Nursery Coordinator

    chrissy@gotothepoint.com

On staff since February, 2017, Chrissy loves welcoming families to our nursery, connecting with volunteers, holding babies, and having circle time with preschoolers! She and her husband, Neil, have two little ones of their own. A hula hoop aficionado since age 10, she enjoys challenging NextGen kids to a contest! In her spare time, look for her fishing or riding a tractor at SpringHill Camp, where Neil is on staff, or getting her nails done while drinking a Chai tea.

  • John Holt – Administrator

    john@gotothepoint.com

Moving from Illinois in 2004 to join The Point staff, John enjoys working with a wonderful staff of dedicated Christians. Married to his “sweet Minnesota girl”, Dorian, the Holts have one son. A history buff and lover of classical music, John, along with Dorian, operates a home-school publishing company.

  • Renee Bogard – Office Manager

    office@gotothepoint.com

On staff since 2003, Renee’s infectious personality and love for helping people is the perfect combo for the church office. She and Trent, her husband, have two children. Outside of the office, she loves hanging out with her kids and helping her grandson explore his exciting new world. She has a secret desire to be on Chopped, but would need 2 hours, not 20 minutes, to cook.

  • Laurie Greene – Database Manager

    laurie@gotothepoint.com

Laurie wears many hats – wife to Lead Pastor, Steve, mom to three married children, grandma to 6 (and counting) grandkids, as well as the multiple roles she fills at the church both on staff and as a volunteer (including a short stint as a marathon runner for Team World Vision). In her spare time, you will probably catch her on the back of a motorcycle traveling the country with her husband.

  • Steve Fishburn – Facilities Manager

    s.fishburn001@gmail.com

Steve never lets the grass grow under his feet (especially now that it’s part of his responsibility)! Retiring from a career with Pepsi in April, 2011, he started on staff at The Point in June of that year. Don’t make the mistake of referring to his current role as “a job”. He loves what he does (and it shows). A lifelong Cubs fan, he also likes to golf and fish. Most of his spare time however, is spent with his wife, Sherri, and their four grandchildren.

  • Haves Turner – Custodian

    haves@twc.com

Everybody Loves Haves could be the title of a TV show featuring The Point’s custodian since 2000. He’s been married to Sharon for over 50 years, has 3 children, 6 grands, and 3 great-grands, and still has time to keep this place neat and clean. In his spare time, you’ll find him watching the Reds, Hoosiers or NASCAR (depending on the season). His advice to all the Haves wanna-bes, “eat an apple every day!”
